about the founder

Jennifer Dorn has always been into style and fashion. Growing up and living with diabetes she learned to be organized and well-prepared, ensuring she kept all her necessary supplies on-hand. However, carrying all the essential items often meant style and fashion were sacrificed. Through this frustration the idea of aDorn was born and after several years, has now become a reality. Jennifer decided if no one else was going to cater to the special needs of diabetics she had to. Adorn was formed so that today, diabetics can order “High Style, Low Profile” bags, to keep them in style, while accommodating their important medical needs.

Jennifer Dorn was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of 13. Always carrying a large organizational pack for her medical supplies and a cute purse, she found it difficult to combine the two. Jennifer thought that there has got to be a better way to carry all these things.

aDorn is Jennifer's dream come to life, and now diabetics can have something new, exciting and stylish. aDorn handbags, though designed specifically for diabetics, are great for those who like an organized handbag or those with other special medical needs.

Between growing up in Denver, living in Costa Rica and Spain, and traveling far and wide, Jennifer spent 12 years collecting sketches and designing handbags in journals, (and sometimes even on napkins.) San Francisco opened up its Golden Gate to Jennifer and aDorn, and is where she now calls home. She is an active participant with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each purse is donated to JDRF! aDorn is designing items to meet the needs of all ages and genders.
